Desert Rose Productions - The Company
Grant is a founder of Desert Rose Productions. He is a professional actor having studied Dramatic Arts in South Africa. In Israel, Grant undertook the leading role in Tom and Viv and appeared in Lysistrata, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Knights of the Round Table. He also appeared in Taming of the Shrew, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Smoke and Mirrors, Sentimental Journey, Broadway Babes, The Fantsticks and All My Sons. Grant co-produced, co-wrote and acted in Sentimental Journey, Broadway Babes and Ze Broadway, Buba!. Grant has successfully performed in his own original stand-up comedy routine called Aliya Agony. In addition, Grant has appeared in several adverts including the Ministry of Tourism web adverts for Israel. He has also appeared in several movies and recently starred in the short film, Intelligent Life directed by Mike Mintz. Ze Broadway, Buba! is the first crossover production undertaken by the company to provide a bridge for Anglo actors wishing to cross over into Hebrew.
Daniella is a founder of Desert Rose Productions. Daniella is a professional actress, singer and director having studied Dramatic Arts in her native South Africa. In South Africa she appeared in numerous productions including Cabaret, Trojan Women and Threepenny Opera. In Israel she has performed in numerous productions including Albert, Springboks and Sabras, Lysistrata, Top Girls, The Show Must Go On, Vanities, Taming of the Shrew, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Fantasticks and she created the role of Bree in Eli, Eli. Daniella also originated the role of Lobelia and has appeared in all three productions of Smoke and Mirrors. She recently undertook the role of Kate in All My Sons which is currently touring the schools in Israel . Broadway Babes marks the third production that Daniella has undertaken to create, direct and perform. The previous two include Best of Broadway and Sentimental Journey. Ze Broadway, Buba! is the first crossover production undertaken by the company to provide a bridge for Anglo actors wishing to cross over into Hebrew.
Limore Badin is a graduate of UCLA. Among Limore’s work in Los Angeles are several musical comedies, including Anything Goes and Brigadoon as well as portraying Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream where she garnered recognition in several Shakespeare festivals. In Israel, Limore originated the role of Selena, the Cat, in the original production of Smoke and Mirrors. She appeared in Something Happened on the way to the Forum, Best of Broadway and as the lead role of "La Gayo" in The Fantasticks. For Desert Rose Productions, Limore has undertaken the roles of Lena in Broadway Babes and Sharon Ki in Ze Broadway, Buba! Limore has done various commercials in Israel. Born in Los Angeles, California, Limore made aliyah in 1995. In Los Angeles, Limore appeared on various television spots, including Eye On LA and Good Morning LA.
IIlana graduated from IDC with a B.A. in Communications, and although she is now working in the TV industry, her passion for the performing arts will always remain at the top of the list. Ilana has participated in several productions including performances of She Loves Me, Camelot, Smoke and Mirrors, Best of Broadway, Sentimental Journey, The Perfectly Marvelous Cabaret and several acoustic performances at Café Bialik, Mike's Place and more . Most recently she took the lead role of Louisa in The Fantasticks and the role of Ann Deever in All My Sons. In Broadway Babes, Ilana played the role of Victoria.
Debbie Gold Hadar
Debbie Gold Hadar has acted, sung and directed all her life, oftentimes even on stage. Hailing originally from the UK, she has performed and directed in both the UK and Israel; including such productions as Fiddler on the Roof, Amadeus, Mountain Language and Top Girls. "Broadway Babes" marks Debbie's first display of on-stage dancing since her balletic hopes were dashed at the age of 10. As one of the original cast of Broadway Babes, she is proud and honored to be part of this country-wide tour, and hopes it is the first of many endeavors with Desert Rose Productions. In Broadway Babes, Debbie played the role of Sally.
Lauren is currently taking a gap year from her studies at Ryerson University’s School of Journalism in Toronto, Canada, where she grew up. A news editor and ‘JPost TV’ reporter at the Jerusalem Post, Lauren has found her niche in reporting the news, but musical theater will always hold a special place in her heart. Lauren has been performing from a very young age, and always seems to find her way back to the stage, but this will be her debut performance in Israel. Past credits include; Miss Hannigan in Annie, Stepmother in Into the Woods, Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, and Marquise de Merteuil in Les Liaisons Dangereuse and Annie in Broadway Babes.
Leanne Ravid is a bubbly blonde 'ex-surfer chick' who grew up in sunny Durban, South Africa. After graduating from the prestigious drama school of the University of Cape Town, Leanne performed in a wide variety of shows, including musicals (Guys and Dolls, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), musical revues (Jive to the Juke, We are Sailing), cabaret (Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue), drama (Macbeth, East), stand-up comedy (co-starred with Mark Banks in A Bit Off the Mark) and circus-cabaret (Nick Taylor's The Top). She was well on her way to fame (without the fortune), with nominations for theater awards in hand (Fleur du Cap award for Best Supporting Actress in Berkoff's East), when a trip to Israel in 1992 led to an unexpected and all-encompassing infatuation with Israeli music, the kibbutz community, and…..her wonderful husband Kovi (not necessarily in that order). Now she acts, sings (and dances) up a storm in two languages!
Miley Rose is a student at the IDC, Herzliya. Although she is currently studying Government, Miley previously studied theatre for four years and received classical vocal training for three years. Miley’s previous roles include the role of Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera and Dolly in Hello, Dolly! with the Union County Performance Ensemble. Miley also played Snow’s daughter in Carousel, as well as Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She is currently playing the role of the religious girl, Elisheva Bat-El, in Ze Broadway, Buba!
Born and raised in Israel, Ronit has worked in media and entertainment both in Israel and abroad. She performed as a singer/dancer/actress in various TV shows, films, and stage productions. Among her latest credits the feature film The Golden Pomegranate released in 2012. Ronit graduated with honors from Temple University in Philadelphia, USA with a B.A. in Broadcasting Telecommunications and Performance, and studied Musical Theater at Circle in The Square Theater School in New York and at Beit Zvi Performing Arts School in Israel. For Desert Rose Productions, Ronit has undertaken the role of Ahava Sadot in Ze Broadway, Buba!
Bibi Linevitz - Assistant Director
Bibi studied opera at the Chicago Conservatory, USA and the Bosendorfer Studios in London, England. She appeared in college productions of She Stoops to Conquer, Cinderella, The Bald Prima Donna and in London productions of Snow White and South Pacific. Bibi originated the role of Grizelda and has appeared in all three productions of Smoke and Mirrors. She also appeared in the original musical review, Sentimental Journey. Nowadays Bibi prefers to work behind the scenes and is an invaluable member of the company.
Jared Crankshaw - Sound & Lighting Engineer
Jared studied sound and lighting at the renowned BPM College, the leading institute in Israel for Sound & Music Production studies. He joined Desert Rose Productions in 2015 and is responsible for all the technical aspects of the various shows. He has already worked on Together, Against the Odds in Zichron and Ra'anana as well as Ze Broadway, Buba! in Tel Aviv and Rehovot.
